Overview
The Optoma PK52 is a 4K UHD laser projector from the Photon Beam series, built to bring bright, cinematic entertainment into everyday living spaces. It combines native 3840 x 2160 resolution with HDR support and Optoma’s PureEngine picture processing for smooth, vibrant big-screen visuals without a complicated setup.
A DuraCore laser light source rated for up to 30,000 hours in Eco mode delivers true-to-life colour accuracy (95% Rec.709) and consistent brightness of 3,500 lumens, so there’s no lamp to replace over the projector’s working life. A contrast ratio of 1,500,000:1 adds deep blacks and strong highlight detail across a 1.21:1–1.59:1 throw ratio, letting the PK52 fill screens from around 28″ up to 300″ diagonal.
PureEngine technology calibrates colour and detail scene-by-scene, while PureMotion MEMC keeps fast-paced action, sports and games smooth and free of judder. Filmmaker Mode disables motion smoothing and image enhancements at the touch of a button, preserving the original frame rate, colour and aspect ratio for the director’s intended look.
Auto vertical keystone correction and 360-degree operation make the PK52 easy to place almost anywhere, whether on a shelf, tripod, or ceiling mount, and it’s rated for 24/7 continuous use.
Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.0 inputs (one with ARC output), a USB-A power output, a 3.5mm audio output, RS232 and a 12V trigger for control integration, and a built-in 15W speaker for standalone use without external audio. At 3.4kg net, the PK52 is compact enough to move between rooms, and a Kensington lock slot plus password-protected interface help secure it while on display. Compared to Optoma’s own PK32, the PK52 trades the LED Photon Life line’s lamp-free portability for a brighter, laser-driven 3,500 lumens and a larger 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio suited to bigger home cinema screens.
