Overview
The Optoma PK31 is a compact 4K UHD LED projector from the Photon Life series, built for movies, streaming and gaming in the living room rather than the boardroom. It’s designed to be picked up, placed on a coffee table or shelf, and switched straight on without a lengthy setup process.
The PK31 pairs native 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) resolution with an RGB LED light source rated for up to 30,000 hours in Eco mode, so there’s no lamp to replace over the projector’s working life. Brightness is rated at 1,600 HK Lumens (900 ISO Lumens), and a contrast ratio of 200,000:1 combines with 95% DCI-P3 colour coverage and HDR10/HLG support for vivid, well-balanced images. A 1.5:1–1.65:1 throw ratio lets it fill screens from 60″ to 150″ diagonal from a normal living-room distance.
For gaming, the PK31 offers input lag as low as 4.6ms at 1080p 240Hz (16ms at 4K 60Hz), which keeps fast-paced titles feeling responsive rather than laggy. It supports 360-degree operation and 24/7 continuous use, so it can be mounted, tilted, or set on its side without restriction.
Connectivity is kept simple with a single HDMI 2.0 input and a 3.5mm audio output, alongside a built-in 5W speaker for when external audio isn’t set up. At 2.2 kg net, the PK31 is easy to move between rooms, and security features including a Kensington lock slot and password-protected interface help protect it while it’s out on display.
